Physical Change
It is with respect to infrastructure, public realm improvement and the development of the built environment that real change is required in the West End ahead of London 2012. An opportunity we cannot afford to miss.
Transport remains the single most important issue for the West End, in terms of both visitor experience and as a threat to its future wellbeing. We will continue to work with the authorities, exerting pressure for change - less traffic and more space for pedestrians will be a key theme as we support the proposition for a dedicated public transport system for Oxford Street in particular. A destination, not a thoroughfare - a world class shopping District which delivers a sense of place for visitors, workers and residents.
