dedicated phone number is available for individuals who may need help or for people who know of anyone in need of help as a result of COVID-19: 020 7641 1222, available from 8am to 10pm seven days a week.

Helping the Homeless

Working alongside various charities, partners and agencies, Westminster City Council is seeking to ensure rough sleepers who have been provided emergency hotel accommodation during the pandemic do not return to the streets as the City reopens. It has identified 50 individuals suitable for work in construction or similar roles, whose need is particularly acute as they do not qualify for welfare support.

It is hoped the property industry could play an important role in supporting them back to work, and Westminster City Council will ensure, where possible, qualifications and health and safety cards are given to candidates. It will also provide the necessary assistance to apply and interview for work, and is offering additional support after successful recruitment.

If you think you or your contractors can help find suitable employment opportunities in central or east London, please email Steph Murphy on smurphy1@westminster.gov.uk
