The Community Awards of Mayfair & St James’s celebrates the sense of community in these districts by recognising the people and businesses that help create and maintain the spirit and ethos of the area. Once again, the community came together at The Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane, with host Alexander Armstrong, to celebrate the winners.
New West End Company hosted two awards, with Chief Executive, Jace Tyrrell presenting both to well-deserved winners. Firstly, the Hospitality Hero award went to Rita Gilligan from the Hard Rock Cafe, who has served the famous and fabulous at the renowned restaurant since 1971. Rita wasn’t on hand on the evening, and so James Russell-Jones, General Manager of the Hard Rock Cafe accepted the award on her behalf.
Secondly, Doorman of the Year was presented to Colin Case, of The Beaumont Hotel, who has been described as friendly, welcoming, helpful, humorous, and most of all, profressional.
The efforts of people and organisations that have made a positive contribution to local life is significant in keeping the historic Mayfair & St James’s community thriving, and we are pleased to be a part of celebrating the achievements of residents and businesses alike across the distict.
We were pleased to be a category sponsor for the event, alongside Barbados Tourism, The Birley Clubs, Caprice Holdings, Conrad Family Office, The Crown Estate, Handelsbanken, Hilditch & Key & Maddox Gallery
