Additionally, members can expect to see a dedicated police presence, particularly on high footfall days such as Black Friday, Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve. The operation will also include the deep cleaning of station gateways, and the flushing of all 82 streets in the BID area.Operation West End runs from Tuesday 26 November until the end of December, with our Operations team available 24/7 to support members in delivering the exceptional West End experience visitors expect throughout the season.Below, we have outlined the various initiatives taking place over the next month.

Dedicated Metropolitan Police Team – As part of the month of action, we have secured a dedicated team of Metropolitan Police Officers, assigned to the BID footprint, who will be working with our Security team to target street crimes such as pickpocketing, phone snatches, robbery, and store crime. This complements the police’s own initiative to uplift their presence across peak days in the district, including Black Friday, Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve.Westminster City Council Operations – We have also arranged to have Westminster City Council City Inspectors dedicated to the BID footprint from 26 November until the end of December. They will be conducting joint patrols with our Security team to tackle busking, pedicabs and illegal street trading.Members Webinar: Action Counter Terrorism (ACT) Awareness – On 11 December we will host an ACT Awareness Webinar for members. The session will be led by representatives from the Metropolitan Police Service’s Counter Terrorism Protective Security Operations (PSO) team, who will share insights on topics including; ‘The Power of Hello’ for proactive engagement, the ‘HOT Method’ for assessing suspicious items, recognising signs of ‘Hostile Reconnaissance’, and updates on the current threat level.

All businesses are required to assess their recycling practices in accordance with the regulations outlined in the Environment Act 2021. By conducting a waste audit, offered by Westminster City Council, you can easily identify areas for improvement within your business.
The audit includes expert advice on the specific services your business requires. If you are working towards a sustainability target, the audit is also a great way to begin measuring progress in waste management.
