12 September 2025 – New West End Company, the Business Improvement District (BID) representing over 600 West End businesses, has today unveiled plans to deliver a record £60 million of investment over the next five years – ensuring the West End remains a globally renowned destination for retail, leisure, hospitality and office space.

The proposals are part of New West End Company’s new business plan and vision for 2026-2031, titled “The Future is West End”, as it prepares to go to ballot this November for another five-year mandate. The plans set out a clear pathway to drive growth, attract talent and visitors, and, in partnership with local stakeholders, secure the district’s future as one of the world’s most dynamic destinations.

Built around four priorities – Operations, Experience, Innovation and Advocacy – the plans commit ring-fenced investment to essential services that underpin the West End, from security and street cleaning to advocacy, insights and destination marketing.

Key proposals include:

  • Expansion of 24/7 street security patrols and rapid response cleaning teams.
  • Creation of a new loyalty programme, West End Clubhouse, to engage the district’s workforce and support local businesses.
  • Upgrade of member insights dashboards to offer real-time access to key metrics and trends.
  • Continue to campaign for business rates reform and reintroduction of VAT-free shopping.

For the first time in 20 years, New West End Company will also welcome office occupiers and property owners into its membership. This broader representation reflects the changing mix of the district – a thriving hub, where global retail, world-class hospitality and an increasingly significant office community come together.

Dee Corsi, Chief Executive of New West End Company, commented: “The West End is more than a destination – it’s a dynamic ecosystem of retail, leisure, hospitality and, increasingly, office spaces. This BID renewal secures the essential services our district relies on, while setting a clear course for the future: one defined by innovation, investment, and a stronger sense of community across every part of the West End.”

Paul Williams, Chairman of New West End Company, said: “New West End Company has long championed the evolution of the West End. As Chairman, I’ve seen first-hand how the team builds trust, drives investment and delivers results. From working hand-in-hand with the police on safety to leading advocacy on Oxford Street’s transformation, New West End Company brings people together to shape the future of this extraordinary district.”

Sir Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London, commented: “The West End is central to London’s global standing – and its future success depends on collaboration. Through the proposed Mayoral Development Corporation for Oxford Street, we are creating the tools to transform this vital high street. New West End Company’s continued partnership with City Hall will help deliver that vision.”

Howard Dawber OBE, London’s Deputy Mayor for Business and Growth, added: The West End is one of the UK’s most important economic engines, powering jobs, investment and opportunity across our city. New West End Company plays a vital role in uniting and supporting businesses – backed by strong data, powerful partnerships and a shared ambition for inclusive growth. This new investment will help ensure the West End continues to thrive, as we continue to work to build a fairer, more prosperous London for everyone.”

Adam Hug, Leader of Westminster City Council, commented: “The Council values New West End Company’s deep understanding of the West End and the strong business voice it represents. Together, we’re committed to creating a thriving, welcoming district – one that works for businesses, workers, and residents alike.”

To mark the launch, along with the unveiling of New West End Company’s new brand identity, existing and prospective members, political stakeholders and external partners gathered at Outernet on 11 September for an exclusive reception. Attendees included Deputy Mayor of London for Business and Growth, Howard Dawber, and Leader of Westminster City Council, Adam Hug.
