As a leading voice on London’s West End, New West End Company is constantly exploring new insights and trends to inspire its members and partners and help them to adapt and engage with the ever-changing retail landscape.
For our latest thinking, we partnered with Springwise, the global innovation intelligence agency, to compile a report which explores the future of bricks-and-mortar retail through the consumers lens, identifying trends, challenges and tangible opportunities linking with the wider global innovation trends.
Redefining Retail: Beyond 2020 offers valuable insight on the latest technologies and innovations from across the globe to attract, retain and engage consumers in a disrupted market. It covers five themes of consumer disruption and provides relevant case studies for each with key takeaways to inspire businesses to adapt their own operations.
The five themes are:
- In-store technology
- Seamless shopping
- Data-driven retail
- The glass box store
- The next big thing
We launched the report at the Drapers Fashion Forum 2019 at a private roundtable with senior players in the retail industry. Associate Editor of Drapers, Graeme Moran, chaired a discussion into the future of the sector covering a variety of issues from workforce to sustainability.
Alongside the report, Springwise created a one-off podcast to delve into some of the key themes in mroe details. Chaired by James Bidwell, Chair of Springwise the podcast panel included Jace Tyrrell, Chief Executive of New West End Company and Co-Founder of sustainable lifestyle brand Bottletop, Oliver Wayman.
